Thank you for your interest in Milford, MA Boy Scout Troop 2. Troop 2 belongs to the Knox Trail Council, Cannon District. Established in 1927, we are one of the oldest, continuously serving Troops in the region. Troop 2 is a boy-led, adult-advised Troop. All of the programs are planned and executed by the Boy Scouts themselves, with experienced adult leaders available to advise and ensure that all activities are conducted in a safe manner. The main objective of the Troop is to encourage and support the scouts as they develop the lifelong skills of citizenship, leadership and self-reliance, while having lots of fun along the way. Mt. Monadnock Hike and Camping Trip

Sign-up for the Mt. Monadnock hike and camping trip on May 16-17 is now open. Permission slips should be turned in to Mr. Donahue by May 7th. The $10 fee can be paid by credit card on the Troop 2 website or by check payable to "Troop 2 BSA". Permission slip can be found here -->  http://www.troop2milford.org/node/1014.

Service Project for Sacred Heart Church

Sacred Heart Church has asked for the scouts of Troop 2 to help with the final stages of relocating back into the Church when the renovations are completed in the coming days. This service project will include moving chairs from the Bell Tower Room to the chior loft in the Church and to the chapel room, and also putting the Bell Tower Room back into order with chairs and tables. Details are still being worked out about what date/time, but will likely be during the week of May 4th. An announcement will be sent out to the Troop when the final date & time has been set. All scouts are encouraged to participate in this service project to our chartering organization.

Eagle Scout Recognition Dinner

The National Eagle Scout Association Committee of Knox Trail Council invites all Eagle Scouts from the Class of 2014 to attend the annual Eagle Scout Recognition Dinner. Join us as we recognize our Eagle Scouts from the Class of 2014 on Friday May 1, 2015, at the Knights of Columbus Hall, Westborough. These Scouts represent 24 MetroWest communities, 45 units, and provided 20,824 Hours of Community Service. The program for the evening is an opportunity for family, friends, Units, and supporters of Scouting to recognize the achievements of these Eagle Scouts. Our Keynote Speaker will be Mr. John Polanowicz, Past Secretary of the Massachusetts Executive Office of Health and Human Services, and a West Point Graduate. Merit Badge Selections

Scouts should select their summer camp merit badge choices ASAP and send them to Mr. Buckley so that he can reserve their first choices for summer camp. Payment for summer camp can be made later (by April 25th for the Early Bird discount), BUT the Scout's merit badge choices must be entered in ASAP to ensure they get their first choices.

Troop 2 Louisa Lake Open House

Troop 2's upcoming campout at Louisa Lake (April 25-26) will include a "scouting open house" from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm on April 25. Scouts should invite a non-scouting friend to this event to check out what makes scouting such a great program. There will be stations for cooking, knot tying, and setting up tents, among other activities. This event is open to the town of Milford.

Its Time for Summer Camp Sign-up!

It's time to sign-up for Summer Camp!  Troop 2 will be attending Camp Resolute Sunday, July 19 through Saturday, July 25. Early Bird sign-up by April 30 is at a reduced fee. Turn in your permission slip, merit badge selection form, and money to Scoutmaster Jamie Buckley. Medical Forms should be turned in to the Troop's medical officer, Lisa Williams.
