Scottish Highlands Trek 2016

Posted by admin on Mar 9 2015 - 9:49pm

Troop 2 is in the early stages of planning for a return visit to Inverness, Scotland where we will tour around the Scottish Highlands. During our time in Inverness, scouts will live with a host family from the 3rd Inverness (Crown) Scout Troop and we will participate in many joint activities with the Crown Scouts. Troop 2 has travelled to Scotland on two prior occasions, and we have hosted the Scots here in Milford on two prior occasions. Tentatively our plan is to travel in late June / early July 2016, and we may include a few days in London or another major European city on our way to Scotland. The total cost of the trip is highly dependent on the cost of airfare, but we estimate that the trip will be approximately $1,800 per person.   We are now beginning to plan some fundraising events for the trip. Scouts who participate in fundraising can apply the funds to either the Scottish Highlands Trek or, if the scout does not participate in the Scotland trek, to summer camp in 2016. More information will be coming soon on fundraising opportunities for the scouts.  Informational meetings will be held for Scouts and for Parents later this spring to discuss the trip in more detail.
