The Boy Scouts of America strives to have an adult leadership in place for every unit that is fully trained and capable of handling all matters for the Scouts and its other members. In order to achieve that purpose, the BSA has created training programs to allow adult volunteers to learn about Scouting, Safety and other matters on an ongoing basis throughout their Scouting careers.
The heart of these material can be found at the BSA's Online Training Center. Here adults can obtain the skills necessary to participate as a leader with any BSA unit. The center can be found at the following internet address:
Here, adults can find materials regarding the following subjects and much, much more. The site is being revised an updated all the time, so check back often for more improvements!!
If you are planning on becoming an adult member of Troop 2, we ask that you please complete your Youth Protection training before registering. BSA will no longer allow us to accept/process the registration of any adult unless he/she has completed the Youth Protection module and supplied us with a copy of their completion certificate at the time of their registration.
Also please note: Youth Protection training is only valid for two (2) years. If your Youth Protection certification has expired, you must complete the latest version of the training online and obtain a completion certificate. This certificate must be presented to the troop prior to your attending any events. No leader will be allowed to attend Troop 2 events unless he/she has completed the proper Youth Protection training per the directive of the BSA and our local Knox Trail Council.
Questions on BSA Training can be directed to the Scoutmaster, Committee Chairperson or our Training Coordinator.
