Summer Camp 2006 Daily Diaries
Camp Resolute - Bolton, MA
Diary home Sunday MONDAY Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday
Monday, July 17th Troop 2 Diary:
Good morning!!
5 AM... the sun is up and this camper was up!! Of course no one else was but I was...
The beautiful sunrise as the mist burned off the top of Little Pond... ahhhh...
Of course the beloved silence was broken as 10 of our Scouts and 2 adults went to the Waterfront for the Polar Bear swim at about 6:45 AM. Swim first thing in the morning four of the five days and you earn the Polar Bear Patch!!
Reveille was sounded at 7 to get the rest of the campers up and out of bed and off to the flag raising. Troop 2 had the honor of being the first color guard of the week led by Ethan, our SPL for the week. The it was time for breakfast, french toast and chocolate chip corn bread with some juice.
THE DEW GOES AWAY!!
(ask your Scout/Scouter)
The afternoon was all about having some fun and learning. Younger Scouts went to "Pathfinders" to get the lowdown and help on the tasks they need to complete to advance in rank.
Other Scouts participated in field sports, the waterfront and extra Merit Badges!
Dinner was a lovely Chicken Parmesean in a sweltering hot Dining Hall.
This evening after our portraits we had the Aquatics meet. We did well in some events, not so well in others, but we all had fun either taking part or cheering on our friends!
After the meet some of the Scouts went off to the Troop Shoot at the range where we saw and were able to participate in black powder shooting, shotgun and rifle shooting.
Taps again at 10 and most were out quickly, even though it was hot once again and the bullfrogs just kept on a sounding all night long.
