Summer Camp 2006 Daily Diaries
Camp Resolute - Bolton, MA
Diary home Sunday Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday FRIDAY
Friday, July 21st Troop 2 Diary:
Our last day started like the rest of the week with a group of Scouts going with Mr. Bradley and Mr. Pittsley on the polar bear swim. We all then went to a breakfast of eggs and sausage.
After breakfast the Scouts went off to their last day of Merit Badge classes. While the Scouts were busy with that the adults stayed back at the site and started the breakdown of the site. Packing their personal gear, breaking down the screen houses, the garages and packing all the Troop gear into the trailer.
Then it was off to a lunch of burgers and the fixin's.
After lunch most of the Scouts finished packing their gear while a few had other things in mind... the mile swim and the Little Pond triathlon. One Scout even did both! Yikes!
Then a familiar face arrived... Mr. Scheffler stopped by to help Mr. Bradley out today with his first paper party, and with the new system and all the advancements we had... all the help we could get we needed!
Parents started to arrive and then something sounded in the distance.. uh-oh. That was not good... thunder on our last night with celebrations pending. Well with Mr. Scheffler and Mr. Bradley on the job we got done just in time to have our Court of Honor.
Scouts were awarded their rank advancements (14 in all I believe, two Scouts advanced TWO ranks!), Merit Badges, polar bear swim patches, mile swim patches and more.
Mr. Armata thanked the parents and adults that volunteered throughout the week and we finished just in time...
BEFORE THE SKIES OPENED!
Yes the rain hit us just as we finished and were about to go to the Chicken Bar-B-Q. Well it was moved into the dining hall... and when the weather started to break the staff advised us we could leave if we chose... and some did. Others stayed to enjoy the closing ceremonies by the fireplace...
In all, a great week at Camp with many fond memories and new friends...
Thank You all and we look forward to the new year starting in September!
