Summer Camp 2007 Daily Diaries
Camp Resolute - Bolton, MA
Diary home SUNDAY Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday
Monday, July 16th Troop 2 Diary:
Good morning!!
6:15 AM... the sun is up and this camper was up!! I wasn't the first, but I was up.
Four of our Scouts and 2 adults went to the Waterfront for the Polar Bear swim at about 6:45 AM. Swim first thing in the morning four of the five days and you earn the Polar Bear Patch!!
Reveille was sounded at 7 to get the rest of the campers up and out of bed and off to the flag raising. The it was time for breakfast, french toast with some juice.
The morning was the first day of Merit Badge classes and the Socuts dispersed to their sites and enjoyed the sunny morning. That afternoon our new Scouts went to the new Resolute "Recruits" program where younger Scouts get the lowdown and help on the tasks they need to complete to advance in rank.
Other Scouts were seen at the ranges, the waterfront and of course the trading post!
Dinner was a Bourbon Chicken with veggies and strawberry shortcake for dessert.
The evening was the Aquatics meet. We won the "merman" costume contest due to Bryan's wondeful disguise, then Ethan and Chris P. won the canoe race. We placed third in a couple of other events as well. We'll see how the Troop fared overall at the end of the week during closing ceremonies. Wish us well!
Taps again at 10 and most were asleep straight away after a fun filled day of fresh air.
Stay tuned for more news and pictures of the week's events!
