Summer Camp 2007 Daily Diaries
Camp Resolute - Bolton, MA
Diary home SUNDAY Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday
Tuesday, July 17th Troop 2 Diary:
Tuesday was another great morning with a beautiful start to it.
A refreshing polar bear swim and a surprise visit!
Mr. Ferarro and "Copious" (ask your Scout) visited camp and gave the camp a great rendition of "Oh What a Beautiful Morning" that woke everyone one up. He then provided the traditional donuts in memory of good ol' Papa Smurf.
Roland, those that knew you miss you, those that did not wish they had...
For those who are new to the Troop... Roland was also known as "Papa Smurf." He was a longtime leader, mentor and great friend to all those in Scouting, the Community and everyone else who ahd the pleasure to know him.
The it was off to more Merit Badge classes and filling our heads with knowledge and Scout skills... oh yeah, they had a lot of fun too!
At lunch we were treated to another song! This one from one of our Scouts, Jack D., who apparently "lost" his hat and was a contestant on the first episode of "What Have You Lost Today" led by our own Sean Riley.
Sorry Jack... I could not resist... I took video... caution though... it is a 25 MB quicktime movie
<<Click here>>The afternoon was more fun around camp on the ranges, field, waterfront and more. Dinner was ham steaks, potatoes, veggies and jello. Then off to Scout Vespers for a short service.
We then had a camp fire and pizza night at camp. Of course the pizza was a bit late because they forgot our order... but we were taken care of and had some nice hot pizzas... eventually.
Stay tuned for more news and pictures of the week's events!
