Summer Camp 2008 Daily Diaries

Tuesday, July 22nd Troop 2 Diary:
Our second day at Camp Resolute!
The morning began with another polar bear swim. A few drop outs from the first day, but many still grinned and "beared" it! Then the morning posting of the colors and a breakfast of assorted breakfast sandwiches and the ol' cereal bar.
Then the boys were off to day 2 of Merit Badge classes! Pictures of fun again today!
Lunch was hot dogs and mac 'n' cheese, then we were off to more afternoon fun around camp at the waterfront, ranges and more. The Troop challenged the CITs to an ultimate frisbee game, but hmmm... we were unsuccessful.
However there was a group of Scouts that challenged two of the adults here in camp to a basketball game. Guys, have a heart will you. Pick on someone your own size. Those guys are old, slow and well, they just don;t move like they used to. All you really have to do is move the basketball around a little and you win. Yes... the boys won in a close 11-8 game.
Then it was off to retirement of the camp colors and our Turkey Dinner! Yum!!
After dinner it was vespers for a service, then Troop Swim. The Swim was cut real short when weather game into town. Rained for the remainder of the night until just after midnight.
The boys had fun though with Troop Night where we had pizza and soda for the only allowable time of the week.
By 11 all were tucked into bed and we were sleeping to the sound of rain drops hitting the tents...
Oh... a new feature today... MOVIES!! We have a few short snippets for your viewing pleasure! Some longer ones will be posted after camp. I tried to upload them yesterday, but they would not go up. Took too long and kept crashing... that's why we were kind of late.
