2006 Summer Camp!!

DETAILS:

Troop 2 will once again be taking part in Summer Camp this year at Camp Resolute!

Troop 2 will be staying at the Cherokee and Smokey Pines sites again this year, just a stone's throw away from the center of camp and the dining hall. Keep an eye out for many changes in camp this year, most of all, the AQUALAUNCH!!

The cost for camp this year is $300, but only $270 if your fee is paid by April 27th... after that date it will be the full $300. Brothers receive a discounted rate of $229 each! You can also sign up for a second week of camp at only $199 each!

This year Troop 2 will have a Summer Camp signup procedure to ease our process of getting all the Scouts lined up for slots and signed up for their Merit Badges. Also, we will be coordinating payments for all the "extras" that go along with camp (photos, T-Shirts, Chicken Bar-B-Q, etc.). See your sign up package (below) for more information. That's only two checks this year, one for registration and one for everything else!!

2006 Camp Resolute Changes:

• New mattresses 2 years ago, 33% new tens and 33% new bunks last year.
• Another 33% of campsites will receive new tents and bunks this year (no we do not know where)
• New message boards at all campsites in memory of Bob Claussen, longtime Knox Trail member
• Waterfront area DOUBLES in size
• AQUALAUNCH!!
• Dining Hall peanut free ALL SUMMER
• ALL campsites/entire camp peanut free week 1 of Summer Camp
• Swim tests in advance of camp (5/12/2006 at MHS Pool) - No more long lines the first day of camp!! Scouts/Leaders can have their swim tests done ahead of camp. We will have a Troop 2 swim test night on Friday, May 12th at the MHS Pool. Stay tuned for more!
• Online Trading Post! - Camp Resolute will have an online Trading Post up this Spring. That means you can order all your/your Scouts' materials, mementos and more BEFORE camp. When he arrives at camp, all his things will be at the Trading Post waiting for him!!
• Camp Resolute T-Shirts available (see your Troop 2 packet)
• Medical forms for Scouts now good for two years
• Online registration (Mr. Sobierajski says YEA!!)
• Online Merit Badge signups, that means no more Blue Cards and no more Friday Paper party! (Mr. Sobierajski and Mr. Bradley say YEA!)

2006 Troop 2 Changes

• New signup procedure (see Scoutmaster, Mr. Armata or Mr. Sobierajski) -  Troop 2 will have signup packages available starting 2/16/2006. The package will contain the forms, signoffs and order slips for Camp this year!
• Coordinated Payments - no more multiple checks for every little item.
  • One check (payable to "Troop 2 BSA") for registration due 4/27/2006
  • One check (payable to "Troop 2 BSA") for everything else due 6/15/006

Summer Camp materials were handed out to parents/Scouts on Thursday, February 16th and then posted on the internet and emailed shortly after. Stay tuned as we post more information on what to do to get ready for camp, including Scout/Parent Guides, Adult Leader Guides, packing lists and much, much more !

CIT (Counselor in Training) Program:

If your Scout is interested in training to become a member of the Camp Resolute staff, he can enjoy 3 weeks of camp for only $300! He goes for three weeks, earns badges and much, much more. If you are interested, see Mr. Sobierajski for a CIT Application package!
