2007 Tri-River Freeze Out

Friday, January 26th, 2007 through Sunday, January 28th, 2007
Camp Resolute

• The annual Tri-River Freeze Out will be held on Saturday January 27th and Sunday, January 28th, 2007.
• Cost for the event is $27 per Scout/Adult ($15 registration and $12 food costs).
• Tripmaster for this event will be Mr. Fitzgerald.

Arrival/Departure:

• The OPTIONAL Troop 2 assembly of Scouts will take place at 4 PM FRIDAY, January 26th, 2007 in the parking lot at entrance at Camp Resolute.
• The official assembly of Scouts will take place at 7 AM Saturday, January 27th, 2007 in the parking lot at entrance at Camp Resolute.
• Scouts will then march up to the Troop 2 campsite near the Chapel area where we will be staying for the weekend.
• Parents may pickup their Scouts Sunday, January 28th in the parking lot at 11 AM.

Campsite:

• We will be staying at at outdoor tent site in Camp Resolute.

• Events are being planned for both winter activities (if we have snow!!) and alternate activities.
• Prospective Activities include the following;
  • Sled Relay Race
  • Fire Building
  • Log Sawing
  • Emergency Shelter Building
  • Friction Bridge
  • Knots
  • Plutonium Bomb
  • Snow Blind
  • Cooking Demo (Troop 2 and their Dutch ovens at it again!)
  • Snowman building

  • Friday 4 PM                     Troop 2 Arrival
  • Friday evening                 Evening checkin for Troops at Chapel campsite
  • Saturday 7 - 8:30 AM       Check-In
  • Saturday 9:30 AM            Opening Ceremony

  • Saturday 12:30 PM - 3      Afternoon Events

Additional Gear Recommendations:

• One or more cell mats or self-inflating mats
• Space Blanket
• Zero Degree sleeping bag

DIRECTIONS:

From I-495: Take Exit 27 (Bolton and Rt. 117). Turn left (east) onto Rt. 117 and proceed about 1/4 mile to Rt. 85. Turn right (south). Camp Resolute entrance will be on the right about 1/4 mile. Cub Adventure Day Camp entrance is another 1/4 mile on the right.

From Rt. 9: Take Rt. 85 north through Marlborough, Hudson and into Bolton. Cub Adventure day Camp entrance will be on your left as you proceed out of Bolton. Camp Resolute entrance is about 1/4 mile up, on the left.
