2010 National Jamboree!!
July 26th, 2010 through August4th, 2010

The Knox Trail Council is now accepting applications to attedn the 2010 contingent to the National Jamboree. Celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Boy Scouts of America by joining the 43,000 Scouts and leaders at the National Jamboree.
What: The 2010 National Scout Jamboree
When: July 26 - August 4, 2010 plus travel
Where: Fort A.P. Hill, Virginia
Who: The National Jamboree is open to all registered Boy Scouts who:• Are at least First Class by July 26, 2010
• Have completed the 6th grade, or are at least 12, but not yet 18 years old by July 1, 2010
• Are approved by their Scoutmaster and the local Jamboree committee

How: To register for the Knox Trail Council Jamboree troop have a parent visit www.bsajamboree.org and click "Register Now". You will need your BSA membership number (found at the bottom of your membership card) and credit card for the $10 registration fee.Once you have completed the registration process you will need to have your Scoutmaster sign the form you will be given and return it to the Knox Trail Council office with a $100 deposit. This process does not guarantee you a spot, but allows you to be considered for placement in one of the three troops that Knox Trail Council will send to the National Jamboree.
The total estimated cost for youth participants will be $1700-$1900. This fee includes transportation, meals and lodging en route to and from the Jamboree, special patches and neckerchief, patrol and troop equipment, a Jamboree training weekend, and tour days on the way to the Jamboree.
A payment schedule will be announced with installments due beginning Fall of 2008, and the final payment due February 2010. Total final costs will be announced shortly.
What Can you do at the Jamboree?
Rappelling, Scuba, Sailing, Rafting , Kayaking, Archery, Biking, Trap Shooting, Buckskin Games, Confidence Courses and more!
Daily activities include: Merit Badge Midway, Arts & Sciences, recreation of the original Baden Powell Scout Camp at Brownsea Island, an American Indian village, regional entertainment stages, evening arena shows, and much, much more!
