DETAILS:
Stuffing Bags: Thursday, October 20th Troop Meeting
Last year there were not as many bags to collect as previous years because not as many went out. If you are not able to get a driver to deliver or pick up bags or maybe you are unable to walk the route, this is a great way to help out the effort as well.
Delivering Bags: Saturday October 22nd Milford High School Gym
Just as important as picking up the food is getting the bags out to as many homes as possible the day before. If Saturday is a better day for you, you may want to volunteer your time delivering bags. You will pick up a route and you will need a driver.
Picking up filled bags: Sunday October 23rd 12:30 PM. Parking lot behind Food Pantry on Exchange Street. Scouts will need a driver. Meet at the parking lot behind the food pantry to pick up a route any time after 12:30 PM. You may return as often as you like! (The organizers have requested that if you have a street like Fountain Street which is very busy, you pick up on one side first and then down the other. For safety reasons they do not want scouts crossing the busy streets.)
Sorting food and moving filled boxes into the Pantry: Sunday October 23rd
Please park behind the Ben Franklin Bank and walk across to the Food Pantry. If you are interested in sorting food after it arrives let us know. There are a few volunteers still needed to sort. There has also been a request for a few older scouts who could lift the sorted and filled boxes of food from the parking lot into the pantry.
So as you can see there is lots to do! Everyone is welcome! If you have siblings, friends or neighbors who would like to come please bring them along!
