A fabulous start to our first day at camp. The Adult Leaders and a group of older Scouts arrived at camp at 8 AM to setup camp for the week. The trailer came in, was unloaded, garages went up, the "Temple of Advancement" (aka, the "Temple of Doom") was erected as was the Junior Leadership screen house. The "Sacred Area" set, lanterns up, all set by 10 AM... record time.

Then it was time for some relaxation before the week began.

ZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzz....

At 12:30 PM the Scouts and families arrived in the parking area and we got ready for our 1 PM entry into camp with our Troop guide. Fun lugging the stuff up that hill huh? While the boys started setting up their tents, the Health checks went onward. Special Thanks to our Health Officer, Mrs. Williams, on checking and getting our forms properly setup. There was no email complaining of errors or missing documents, forms, information. The only thing missing was one checkbox on one form which was easily resolved. Great Job!!

After the health checks it was off to orientations for the Scouts while the adults relaxed at camp. Once orientations were done it was our pictures (NO SMILES ANYONE!), opening parade and dinner of salad, pizza with cookies for dessert.

Once that was set there was the waterfront orientation (remember your buddy tags!) and then the opening campfire with songs and skits galore. Once that was over it was back to camp for some rest and relaxation before it was time to get up and get the first full day at camp started...

More tomorrow, same Scout time, same Scout website address!!

Our first full day started with a group of about 12 Scouts going to the Polar Bear swim. A nice cool dip in the water to start your day. Then we had a slight mishap that required a foot to be amputated. Okay, I exaggerate, maybe a little... A couple stitches is all. But now we know why those strings have caution tape on them as a warning don;t we. We also know why we do not wear open toed footwear in camp don't we boys?

After our buffet breakfast it was off to our first day of Merit Badge classes, enjoyed by all. A quick Turkey melt luncheon and then off to more activities including getting some of the 4 historical merit badges offered at camp this summer, then some more afternoon activities.

It was MLB night at dinner where we could wear our clothing displaying our support for the baseball team of our choice... beware YANKEEs fans... and we enjoyed an italian sausage dinner. Then it was the Quest for Post Season Glory, which was called short because of the impromptu fireworks display (aka, Mother Nature and her thunder and lightening celebration) here in Bolton. We stayed in the dining hall while the storm passed and enjoyed 3/4's of the movie "The Blind Side." Great, now I have to go back and rent it so I can see the last half hour!!

After that, we left the hall about 10 PM and returned to our site to get off to bed for a good night's sleep.

Good Night all, enjoy the pictures from Monday!!

Hello all!!

Our Tuesday started with another early wake up call and a trip to the Polar Bear swim. Yeah!! Then it was off to breakfast, the flag raising and our morning merit badge classes. We all had fun learning new things and meeting new people...

A great lunch then off to afternoon activities! Some of us had fun in the historical merit badge class for Signaling which we plan to put to use later this week, others went to Carpentry or Pathfinding, two of the other one-time historical badges offered this week. Others of us had fun with some of the open activities offered throughout camp today.

After the afternoon activities it was time to take our flag down in camp and get off to the evening colors and then dinner. We had chicken tacos and spanish rice with churros for dessert! After dinner were Scout Vespers, then Troop C.O.P.E. which gave us the chance to do some climbing... or what some people call Creative Opportunities to Plummet Earthward (i.e. C.O.P.E.), only joking Moms!!

After Troop C.O.P.E. we went "next door" to the Smokey Pines campsite where our new friends from Troop 114 Southwick invited us over for an evening campfire. There we shared pizza and entertained each other with some Scout songs, skits and jokes. It was then time to wrap things up for the day and get back to camp for some much needed sleep. Okay, so we didn't need the sleep, but the adults looked like THEY did!!

Good night and we look forward to seeing some of you in camp Wednesday night!

Hello once again from Camp Resolute!!

Another terrific day at camp today. We enjoyed another cool dip in the morning at the Polar Bear swim! Then we raised our site colors and then off to breakfast.

At morning colors our own Massimo R. announced our presence in camp in Italian!! Kinda confused the staff, don't think they speak Italian... their loss! CLICK HERE to see a movie of Massimo at work!

Also, Troop 2 did the flag raising on Wednesday. CLICK HERE to see a movie of the ceremony.

After morning colors it was more fun and learning at merit badge classes.

For lunch it was hamburgers and the usual fixin's, then more afternoon activities including the historical merit badges and the traditional Wednesday water balloon fight! For dinner it was a turkey dinner while it rained outside. After dinner the rain cleared and we had fun at the Aquatics meet and Order of the Arrow night!!

NOTE - ADULT ADVISORY: We would like to advise that parents plan on leaving early to be here for Friday's Court of Honor. The Court will start promptly at 5 PM and traffic on 495 is known to be heavy on Friday afternoon rush hour. If need be we will delay your son's presentation if you are late, but no guarantee that we can hold it for long. We must finish on time so we can be on time for the closing ceremonies and the Chicken BBQ.

Also, we advise parents to take 85 south to leave camp Friday night. 495 has extensive construction on the bridges between exits 24 and 27 in both directions at night and traffic is limited to 1 lane in each direction. Backups have been extending for several miles each night this week.

A GREAT way to wake up in the morning... OH WHAT A BEAUTIFUL MORNING!!

Thank you Mr. Ferraro for the song and the doughnuts!! We miss you Roland...

After our doughnut breakfast it was the usual start to the day of Polar Bear swim, breakfast, opening colors and then morning merit badge classes. Lunch was Chicken nuggets and pasta salad, then off to afternoon activities!

For dinner it was pasta and meat balls as we loaded up on carbs for the APACHE RELAY!!

After dinner, it was into sprint mode as we all got changed and painted up for the big event! Check out the pictures to see! Then it was off to our turn in the first heat. The Scouts did great and in the end we finished second in our heat. We will get the final results on Friday night.

After the APACHE it was back to camp for Boards of Review... WHAT? MORE DOUGHNUTS!!!

Thank You Mr. Rugoletti for coming in tonight and making doughnuts! Twice in one day, geez, you would think we were spoiled! Well it was time for Boards of Review, and everyone did just fine. We'll get all our ranks, awards and advancement stuff tomorrow at the Court of Honor.

Remember, be here promptly at 5 PM!!

Good Night and we hope to see you tomorrow night! After all, we DO need to get home don't we? That's not funny, don't we? Don't we? Mom??
