Order of the Arrow Trail Crew

Posted by bdonahue on Mar 26 2017 - 9:42pm

Space is still available in 2017 for OA Trail Crews at Philmont, Florida Sea Base, Northern Tier and Summit Bechtel Reserve. If you are a member of the OA, consider participating in one of these 2-week programs where you will spend one week doing trail maintenance and one week on a trek with your crew, hiking the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, canoeing through the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness, or sailing and snorkling in the Florida Keys! It's an excellent way to attend one of BSA's high adventure camps for very low cost, spend time with scouts from all over the country, and perform valuable service to BSA. Information can be found here: http://adventure.oa-bsa.org/index.php

Beginning Jan. 1, 2017, all Scouts MUST use the new rank requirements (rolled out Jan 2016) regardless of rank.

NEEDED - Merit Badge Counselor

Posted by mduffy on Jan 23 2017 - 10:29am

Hi Folks,
We are in need of merit badge counselors.  The merit badge counselor is a key player in the BSA advancement program. Whatever your area of expertise or interest, whether it is a special craft or hobby (basketry, leatherwork, coin collecting), a profession (veterinary medicine, aviation, engineering), or perhaps a life skill (cooking, personal management, communications), as a merit badge counselor, you can play a vital role in stirring a young man's curiosity about that particular topic. By serving as a merit badge counselor, you offer  your time, knowledge, and other resources so that Scouts can explore a topic of interest.  Please contact Michele Duffy (michele.duffy@comcast.net) for more information on how you can become a merit badge counselor

Eagle Scout Project Showcase

Posted by bdonahue on Nov 20 2016 - 5:52pm

The Eagle Project Showcase offers more than 100 ideas and examples of real Eagle Scout projects completed by Scouts. Each project includes a photo and details on the challenges faced in the completion of that particular project. It’s information that other Scouts will find valuable as they weigh the potential difficulties in their own Eagle project ideas. http://eagleprojects.boyslife.org/
